The CLCHPA is based on two assumptions:
Achieving cultural and linguistic competence is a developmental process - both individuals and organizations are at various levels of awareness, knowledge, and skills along the cultural competence continuum.
This on-line access to the CLCHPA is designed solely as a self-assessment and educational activity. It may not be used as a measure in research or for evaluation of educational or training interventions.
Upon completion of all the questions in the CLCHPA you will be provided with two types of feedback. First you will receive information in relation to items that comprise three factors based on a sample of 2,504 health care professionals as part of a psychometric analysis completed in 2010 by the Georgetown University National Center for Cultural Competence and Case Western Reserve University, Department of Family Medicine, Research Division.
